beTweet is run from the European Union. Questions? Email privacy@betweet.eu. We collect your name, username, email, and a scrambled password at signup, and detect your country from your IP address so it can be shown on your profile.
When you use beTweet we store your posts, likes, bookmarks, who you follow, block or mute, your direct messages, and your notification settings. Your IP address is partially hidden before we store it. We keep login alerts for 90 days, session records for 30 days after they end, and device fingerprints for 120 days.
Direct messages are encrypted with AES-256. We use a small number of EU-based outside services: Mailjet (email), OVH (media), Mistral AI (post safety), CaptchaFox (bot prevention). We do not track your behavior across websites, use analytics tools, show ads, or sell your data. You can download all your data or permanently delete your account at any time. In the event of a data breach we report to the regulator within 72 hours.
